Onion Jam Recipe

This is a tasty onion jam and it should be served immediately after being prepared. Onion jam taste absolutely fantastic together with a beef fillet or a steak sandwich.

Preparation time is approximately 20 minutes and this jam recipe makes around 1 500 ml (2 cups) of jam. Cooking time is 40 minutes.

Ingredients

- 30 grams (1/8 cup) of butter
- 2 red onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of soft brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar

Directions

Heat the butter in a heavy cooking pan. Add the red onions and prevent burning by stirring frequently for about 10 minutes on low heat. Cook until onions are tender.

Stir in the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar and let it all cook for another 30 minutes while stirring regularly. The onion jam is ready to be served when the mixture becomes stick and glossy. Serve immediate and enjoy.
